This is the third of three posts that have related to the nolan brothers. Here, I’ll explain the three core levels of self-awareness. The first level (known as the “self”) is our most conscious self. When we’re at the top of our self-awareness, we’re not just aware of who we are, but also what we are doing and how we feel. The second level is the “I” level.
Most people are at the top of the I level, and we are at the bottom of the I level, but we can actually be closer to the top of the I level than the bottom. By self-awareness we are aware of our actions, feelings, thoughts, and emotions. We can even be closer to the bottom of the I level than to the top of the I level.
We can be aware of our feelings and actions, and how they cause our actions, but we can also be aware of the way we feel and how we respond to what we feel. We can even be aware of how we feel about ourselves, and how we react to ourselves. This is the level of self-awareness that is so important because it allows us to control our emotions and decisions.
