By I’m not quite sure what martial arts headgear is, but it’s either a black-and-yellow headband worn in place of a hat or a headband that’s made of rubber or metal and covers your whole head. For me, it’s the former and I wear it with pride.
A black-and-yellow headband is a little bit harder to find, but when I saw one a few weeks ago, I got a little excited and bought one. It’s not cheap though, and I still have to use it for a week to really get the full effect.
I’m not sure if any of you are familiar with the Japanese martial art known as Kenjutsu (which translates to “the art of turning people into stone”), but when you think about it, a headband like that is pretty badass. If you want to wear one of these, I think its a great idea. It’s a lot like a headband, but it works by attaching pieces of fabric to your head with elastic bands.
Kenjutsu is definitely a martial art, but it requires a lot of practice to learn, so I think it is pretty easy to get the hang of the technique. I think the best way to practice, however, is not to try it at home, but to do it in a real martial arts gym. Not all martial arts centers will allow you to wear a headband, but I think most do.
I can’t see myself wearing a headband. I like to wear a hat, but I’d rather be able to put my hair in a bun and not worry about wearing it.

It took me a long time to get used to wearing mine, but I can’t tell you how many times I’ve forgotten I had it on and had my head thrown at me by someone who had other ideas. It’s kind of fun to pretend I’m a ninja, and to watch people react to my attempts at getting them to defend themselves.
I got a headband, but I think I’m only wearing it because no one wants to risk a head-throwing incident to get a shot at me. But I do like to joke about how I’d be a bit more comfortable if I had a helmet, so in the future, if someone wants a helmet, I’m happy to see them wear one.
